Capitol Hill Properties
Most of our Capitol Hill intern housing properties are located in the first residential block from the U.S. Capitol which means you will not have to walk through marginal neighborhoods to get to your internship. In fact, the Capitol Police have a strong presence in this area because of its proximity to the Capitol, which we believe increases the safety of our locations. There is truly no better location if you are working on Capitol Hill.
There are many places to eat and run errands in Capitol Hill, including Eastern Market, the city’s largest farmers’ market and flea market. Metro is within a five-minute walk of our locations. Capitol Hill is a historic residential neighborhood with a small-town feel. Pennsylvania Ave, the main corridor, emanates from the US Capitol beginning at 2nd Street and generally, the further you get (4th Street, 5th, 6th and so on), the less desirable and less safe the areas become, and the longer your walk to the federal buildings.
Dupont Circle Properties
Our Dupont Circle intern housing options are within a five-minute walk of Dupont Circle as well as the Dupont Circle Metro stop on the Red Line. It is in the second residential block from the circle on a tree lined street of grand rowhouses and embassies. Among other Federal buildings, Dupont Circle is convenient to Internships at the White House, State Department, International Monetary Fund, World Bank and George Washington University.
Known as the neighborhood of bistros, bookstores, and galleries, Dupont Circle’s Historical District is considered one of Washington’s best and safest neighborhoods. The Circle itself is a gathering place with park benches, grass and a unique fountain in the center. Consistently the most sought-after neighborhood for renters in the District of Columbia, locals love its residential feel and proximity to shops and restaurants.
